About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Part-Time Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team at Netflix. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, modeling data to power analytics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business insights and decision-making. If you're passionate about data engineering, enjoy working with large datasets, and have a strong background in programming languages, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines to process and transform data for business insights and analytics
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business, engineering, and data science, to drive data-driven decision-making
Develop and maintain data models to power analytics and business insights
Work with large datasets, including big data technologies like Spark and Flink
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data pipeline
Develop and maintain documentation for data pipelines and models
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for data engineering
Essential Qualifications:
Strong background in programming languages, including Java, Scala, or Python
Experience with distributed data processing technologies, such as Spark or Flink
Knowledge of big data technologies, including Hadoop and NoSQL databases
Experience with data modeling and data warehousing
Strong understanding of data quality, integrity, and security
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP
Knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts
Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
Strong understanding of data governance and compliance
Experience with agile development methodologies
