Position Overview As an Assistant Faculty in Computer Information Systems - Online, you will play a vital role in supporting our online undergraduate-level classes, interacting with students, and creating an engaging learning environment. This part-time position offers a flexible work schedule, with a preference for afternoon and evening hours, and requires a commitment of 28 hours per week. Key Responsibilities Analyze student activity within discussions and assessments, choosing the appropriate responses to ensure effective engagement and support. Accurately use the right type of responses based upon training and input from the master instructor, ensuring consistency and quality in our online classrooms. Assist in managing generic student communications, providing timely and effective support to our students. Utilize our online learning platform (Blackboard) to communicate with students, facilitate discussions, and share resources. Escalate unique issues to the master instructor, ensuring that our students receive the support they need to succeed. Assist with grading, monitoring engagement levels, and providing recommendations on the best approach to increase engagement and motivation. Adhere to university policies and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and professionalism. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to our students' success. Essential Qualifications A Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution, conferred and verified, is required for this position. Previous teaching experience with adult learners is essential, with a strong understanding of online education and instructional support. Experience using Canvas or similar learning management systems is a plus, with a willingness to learn and adapt to our online platform. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead group discussions, keep accurate records, and provide effective feedback. Must have strong computer skills, with the ability to access information using a computer, manage digital resources, and communicate effectively in an online environment. Preferred Qualifications A strong background in computer information systems, with a deep understanding of the subject matter and the ability to apply theoretical concepts to real-world problems. Experience in online education, with a proven track record of creating engaging and effective online learning environments.
