You will be responsible for communicating, collaborating, and cooperating with colleagues, supervisors, families, and students to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for all. This role requires a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, including communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. **Key Responsibilities** * Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors to the Portage Central High School building * Communicate, collaborate, and cooperate with colleagues, supervisors, families, and students to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for all * Assist visitors with the purchase of athletic tickets and musical tickets * Assist students with the purchase of student parking passes * Assist in assembling/hanging materials on bulletin boards and keeping displays current * May escort children to and from various rooms in the school building * Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activity * File, type, or use the copy machine as needed * Assist in administering pre and post-testing as needed * Monitor student hallway activity * Keep daily logs for every student and monitor daily * Perform other duties as assigned **Essential Qualifications** * High school diploma or equivalent * Must meet the definition of Highly Qualified as defined by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act by possessing one or more of the following: + Associate's Degree (or higher) + Sixty (60) or more semester hours of college credit from a degree-granting institution + Certificate verifying the passage of the ETS Parapro Assessment Reading for Information, Writing & Applied Mathematics * Excellent organization skills and ability to follow directions * Excellent attendance patterns and strong work ethic * Ability to work easily and effectively with small groups of children * Demonstrated excellent abilities in the area of interpersonal communication * A high degree of patience, ability, and willingness to learn new skills and take direction * Willingness to work with a team to maintain best practice supplemental education system **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience working in an educational setting * Knowledge of and compliance with the policies and procedures contained in the Portage Public Schools Employee Handbook * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills **Skills and Competencies** * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong organization and time management skills * Ability to work effectively with small groups of children * Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and take direction * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically * Excellent attendance patterns and strong work ethic **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** As a member of our team, you will have access to a range of career growth opportunities and learning benefits, including: * Professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge * Mentorship and coaching to support your career growth * Opportunities to take on new challenges and responsibilities * A supportive and collaborative work environment that values innovation and creativity **Work Environment and Company Culture** Our team is dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
