About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Section Instructor to teach online courses in the area of Social Work Evaluation and Practice. As a Section Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching material from approved curriculum in accordance with the syllabus and course design, assuming responsibility for the academic supervision and teaching of enrolled students, and maintaining and evaluating records of student's academic and field experience performance. You will also be expected to provide meaningful and timely feedback on asynchronous and required written assignments, foster an online culture of learning that values professionalism, accountability, empathy, life-long learning, respect for diversity, and ethically-minded practice, and maintain communication with Faculty Mentor or Program Director on a regular basis regarding course and student-related performance, problems, and concerns.
Key Responsibilities
Teach material from approved curriculum in accordance with the syllabus and course design
Assume responsibility for the academic supervision and teaching of enrolled students
Maintain and evaluate records of student's academic and field experience performance
Provide meaningful and timely feedback on asynchronous and required written assignments
Foster an online culture of learning that values professionalism, accountability, empathy, life-long learning, respect for diversity, and ethically-minded practice
Maintain communication with Faculty Mentor or Program Director on a regular basis regarding course and student-related performance, problems, and concerns
Participate in and lead asynchronous discussions and didactic sessions
Provide full coverage for all scheduled synchronous sessions/live sessions
Attend scheduled meetings for Program and with Faculty Mentor meeting
Attend one whole faculty meeting per term
Essential Qualifications
MSW required
PhD in Social Work preferred
At least 5+ years social work education experience required
Graduate level teaching experience preferred
Online teaching exposure/experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching online courses in the area of Social Work Evaluation and Practice
Strong knowledge of social work theories, principles, and practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
