About the Role of Online ELL Tutor We are seeking an experienced and passionate Online English Language Learning (ELL) Tutor to join our team. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to K-12th grade students, focusing on English language learning and academic support Implement our intervention programs according to provided guidelines, using your expertise and creativity to adapt to the needs of each student Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed, using data and feedback to inform your teaching practices Maintain detailed records of student performance and progress using our reporting platform, ensuring that you and our team have a clear understanding of each student's strengths and challenges Communicate regularly with our Operations team and school staff to ensure a collaborative approach to student support, working together to provide a comprehensive and supportive learning environment Participate in training and professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date on best practices in ELL instruction and tutoring Essential Qualifications A background in Education or a related field, with a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field Experience teaching or tutoring ELL students, with a strong understanding of language acquisition and instructional strategies An active or expired Teaching License, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the field of education Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed, with a student-centered approach to teaching and learning Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines and responsibilities Preferred Qualifications Experience working with K-8th grade students, with a strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges of this age group Proficient in video conferencing platforms and basic computer skills, with the ability to navigate our online learning environment with ease Reliable wifi and a dedicated workspace, free from distractions and interruptions A strong understanding of educational technology and online learning platforms, with the ability to leverage these tools to support student learning Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Strong instructional skills, with the ability to design and deliver engaging and effective lessons Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed, with a student-centered approach to teaching and learning Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Braintrust Tutors, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our team members.
