About the Role: Online Client Engineer We are seeking an exceptional Online Client Engineer to join our team of talented professionals. As an Online Client Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the online services that form the backbone of our gaming experiences. Your expertise will be instrumental in implementing key multiplayer functionalities, ensuring top-tier gaming experiences for our clients. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the delivery of high-quality multiplayer gaming experiences, working closely with design and engineering teams to implement multiplayer game features. Ensure that online solutions are seamlessly integrated with a strong focus on security, reliability, and performance, translating both technical and user requirements into functional applications in collaboration with design and production teams. Integrate online services into client-facing applications effectively, leveraging your expertise in game-specific networking concepts, including object replication, client-server and peer-to-peer architectures, server migration, dedicated servers, time synchronisation, prediction, QoS, and voice integration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop features such as sign-in flows, matchmaking, progression systems, user-generated content (UGC), downloadable content (DLC) systems, and leaderboards. Utilize your knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or equivalent to ensure scalable and efficient online solutions. Essential Skills and Qualifications A deep passion for multiplayer gaming, with a strong understanding of the gaming industry and its trends. Proficiency with Unreal Engine, alongside experience with object-oriented programming languages, preferably C++ and C#. Strong debugging and optimization skills, particularly in multi-threaded and networked environments, with a focus on security, reliability, and performance. Experience with online gaming platforms like Xbox Live, PSN, Steam, or similar, with a solid understanding of game-specific networking concepts. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or equivalent, with experience in developing features such as sign-in flows, matchmaking, progression systems, user-generated content (UGC), downloadable content (DLC) systems, and leaderboards. Preferred Qualifications Experience within a AAA gaming environment, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality multiplayer gaming experiences. Strong understanding of cloud-based technologies and their applications in gaming, with experience in developing scalable and efficient online solutions.
