About the Role
As an Off-Site/Online English Adjunct Faculty member, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of English courses, including composition, literature, and creative writing, to students at off-site locations, such as local-area high schools. You will be responsible for facilitating learning through the preparation and delivery of instruction, cooperation with College support staff in the timely submission of materials and grades, and coordination of activities with the Program Director or Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the program director and/or course coordinator
Abides by College-wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct
Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population
Develops a course syllabus that is in keeping with program and College policies
Ensures that program-specific evaluation methods are administered and completed in a consistent and equitable manner
Monitors student performance on a regular basis and provides feedback within a reasonable time-frame to students
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree or higher in English or a related field
Two (2) years of PreK-12 teaching experience
Special competence and 2 years' experience in a relevant academic field
Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge
Prior college teaching experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching online or off-site courses
Strong background in English literature and composition
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced academic environment
