**Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist – Remote Opportunity with blithequark**

As an Ocean Product Development Specialist at blithequark, you'll play a critical role in driving the growth of our ocean volumes and enhancing the development of our ocean product. You'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, as well as our global trade lane team, sales, and operations to develop and implement strategies that maximize competitiveness, enhance service, and support adherence to our preferred network. **Key Responsibilities:** * Support carrier development, pricing, analysis of carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and carrier service issues * Implement and communicate strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service * Assist in implementing pricing programs and reviewing volume targets * Work with our MD, Ocean, and regional ocean management team to promote the ocean product and support sales and operations as needed * Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded * Gather, analyze, and report information regarding performance and competitive activity * Manage annual budget and control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets * Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product **Essential Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent * At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience * Prior ocean carrier experience a plus * Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment * Experience working in a remote or virtual team environment **Skills and Competencies:** * Strong understanding of the international freight forwarding industry and ocean product development * Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment * Experience working in a remote or virtual team environment * Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:** At blithequark, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
