Job Summary As a Nurse Assistant in our Progressive Care Unit, you will be responsible for performing a variety of direct and indirect patient care tasks under the delegation of licensed nursing personnel. Your primary focus will be on providing basic patient care, including bathing and hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, and hydration, as well as ambulation and positioning. You will also be expected to support patient safety and satisfaction by conducting regular patient rounds, effectively communicating with all team members, and demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient. Key Responsibilities Provide basic patient care, including bathing, hygiene, elimination, and toileting, nutrition, feeding, and hydration, as well as ambulation and positioning Support patient safety and satisfaction by conducting regular patient rounds and effectively communicating with all team members Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient Perform indirect patient care tasks, such as maintaining a clean and safe environment, and restocking supplies Collaborate with other healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge Education and Qualifications To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess a High School Diploma and have successfully completed an unlicensed assistive personnel curriculum that meets the minimum training standards as outlined in 19 CSR 30-20.125. Alternatively, you may have documented experience as a Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Room Technician, or Surgical Technician in the past three years, or have completed a LPN program outside the US and are awaiting the licensure examination, or are a nursing student who has completed fundamentals or equivalent course, or were a nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass the state licensure examinations in the past three years, or are certified as a nursing assistant as defined in section 198.082, RSMo. Certifications and Licensures You must also possess a current BLS Certification to be eligible for this role. Experience and Skills While not required, previous hospital or nursing home experience is preferred, as is previous computer experience. As a successful candidate, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care. You will also be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail.
