Join arenaflex: Night Shift Store Lead Opportunity

Are you a natural leader who thrives in fast-paced retail environments? Do you excel when others are heading home for the night? arenaflex is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Night Shift Store Lead to join our growing team. This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals who possess strong leadership capabilities, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences during evening hours.

At arenaflex, we have built our reputation on providing convenient, accessible healthcare and retail services to communities across the nation. Our commitment to excellence has driven our growth from a single neighborhood store in Chicago in 1901 to thousands of locations today. Now, we're looking for talented individuals who want to be part of our continued success story. As a Night Shift Store Lead at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our stores operate smoothly during the crucial overnight hours when many customers depend on us for their essential needs.

Position Overview

The Night Shift Store Lead serves as the primary leader and point of accountability for the store during the 9 PM to 5 AM shift. This role requires someone who can independently manage all store operations, lead by example, and maintain the highest standards of customer service and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have prior retail leadership experience, be comfortable making independent decisions, and possess the ability to motivate team members in a dynamic work environment.

What You'll Do

As a Night Shift Store Lead at arenaflex, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of operational and leadership duties:

Store Opening and Closing: Independently open and close the store without management presence, including executing all opening and closing procedures, managing required cash handling, and ensuring the sales floor and stockroom are properly prepared for the workday. You'll be responsible for opening the secondary entrance for vendor deliveries.

Transaction Processing: Complete product returns, order voids, customer discounts, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as needed at sales registers. You'll oversee all register operations and ensure accuracy in every transaction.

Customer Experience Excellence: Model and deliver a distinctive and exceptional customer experience by engaging clients warmly, offering genuine assistance with products and services, and resolving customer issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.

Team Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact between management and non-supervisory team members during night hours. Communicate assigned tasks to colleagues and mentor other team members to facilitate smooth warehouse and vendor ordering processes.

Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory counts and precision in nearby quantities across all departments, including the stockroom and overhead storage areas. Support the execution of the Outdate program and ensure proper stock rotation using first-in, first-out methods.

Merchandising Support: Assist the store manager or assistant store manager in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, super, and sale stock presentations. Complete all resets and corrections as needed.

Price Management: Responsible for basic department pricing and making daily price adjustments as needed. Ensure proper signage is displayed to support accurate product pricing and complete any additional pricing tasks related to local regulations and compliance programs.

Financial Accountability: Assist with accounting activities including cash reports, cash counts, banking, and bill payment as required or requested by management.

Facility Maintenance: Support internal and external maintenance by ensuring clean, tidy, and organized store conditions and appearance, including requesting store or system repairs as needed.

Food Safety Compliance: Assist with proper handling of food items (such as raw foods and pre-cooked products) according to established policies and procedures. Ensure raw and frozen meats are stored on bottom shelves and maintain proper stock rotation for all consumable items.

Pharmacy Support: Provide assistance at the pharmacy window as needed, supporting our pharmacy team in delivering seamless service to customers.

Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with state and local regulations regarding controlled products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco items. Conduct bag checks of team members before they leave the store.

Communication and Reporting: Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management promptly. Serve as an effective liaison between leadership and the night shift team.

Professional Development: Attend all required training sessions and complete all assigned PPLs (Performance Proficiency Learning). Maintain current PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state regulations.

Additional Responsibilities: Complete special projects and other tasks as assigned by leadership.
