About the Role: Network Support Expert As a Network Support Expert at blithequark, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our network infrastructure. This involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving network issues, as well as collaborating with service providers to minimize downtime and ensure swift service restoration. Your expertise will be crucial in managing our network support tools, adhering to best practices, and providing exceptional support to our business and IS Division stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Proactively investigate network issues and collaborate with service providers to drive towards service restoration, ensuring minimal business downtime. Utilize network support tools and adhere to best practices to efficiently manage and resolve incidents. Operate the incident line, including opening, prioritizing, investigating, following up, notifying, escalating, communicating, and documenting incidents. Engage with business stakeholders and IS Division members, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ensure thorough, accurate, and complete incident documentation for effective reporting and analysis. Configure and deploy Cisco equipment, manage Network Trucks fulfillment requests, and support project tasks. Attend scheduled training to stay updated on existing and future network conditions across various environments, including Warehouse, Terminal, Data Center, Regional Office, Colocation, and Cloud. Understand and apply ITIL/Trucks incident, problem, change, data, and request processes. Suggest or implement process and procedure enhancements for the team. Provide guidance and direction to customers, teams, and other support personnel on daily activities, project initiatives, and network exercises. Build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with stakeholders. Offer technical support, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and procedures for performance monitoring. Troubleshoot LAN framework issues, test and configure software, and assess network performance for improvements. Plan upgrades and maintenance without disrupting business workflow. Provide technical direction and training on network frameworks to colleagues. Work with vendors to procure necessary hardware for networks and systems. Identify, analyze, and resolve network switching and transmission framework issues while minimizing the impact on customer service. Distinguish between primary and secondary network failures. Manage Network Support email requests and demands, and proactively work on daily task lists. Delegate tasks in Smartsheet, lead and participate in weekly team meetings, and monitor Cisco TAC cases. Essential Qualifications: Fundamental understanding of Ethernet, Fiber, Frame Relay, AVPN, ISDN, Dedicated IP, and Routing protocols. Essential knowledge of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and wireless controllers. Understanding of subnetting, VLANs, and network topology. Excellent written/verbal communication skills, phone etiquette, and customer service skills. Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills with incidents and problems. Experience or understanding of ITIL/Trucks incident, problem, change, data, and request processes. Demonstrated strong work ethic and a positive, mature, professional attitude. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Process-oriented, understanding the benefits of processes, and the need for compliance. Ability to explain or convey technical terms to non-technical audiences. Proactively seek, suggest, or implement enhancements for team processes and procedures. Ability to work well under stress and within time constraints. Innovative, creative, and highly responsive with a strong desire to keep improving. Team player, working collaboratively with others, sharing ideas, and prioritizing team goals. Strong organizational skills to meet tight deadlines. Good understanding of Google Suite. Periodic travel may be required. Ability to support off-hours work as needed, including weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis. Preferred Qualifications: Good understanding of blithequark business warehouse and retail operations. Essential knowledge of Network monitoring tools to aid in issue detection and resolution. Studying for or having CCNA certification. Networking degree. ITIL Foundation Certification. Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Google Apps Script, etc.).
