About the Role As a Middle School Spanish Immersion Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and guiding them towards becoming proficient in the Spanish language. You'll be responsible for teaching students half of the day in English and the other half in Spanish, creating an immersive environment that promotes language acquisition and cultural understanding. Key Responsibilities Teach students in a half-day Spanish immersion program, ensuring a seamless transition between languages and promoting academic excellence. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, maximizing student learning outcomes. Motivate students to reach their full potential, fostering a growth mindset and encouraging them to take ownership of their learning. Continuously evaluate, develop, and improve student educational learning outcomes, aligning with district curriculum and standards. Maintain a disciplined and safe classroom environment, ensuring students feel supported and encouraged to learn. Participate in professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date with best practices in language instruction and contributing to the improvement of our programs. Perform other related duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the success of our students and organization. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: Hold or be eligible for certification in World Language (K-12) or Bilingual Teacher (K-12). Possess Middle Level content area certification (preferred). Demonstrate oral and written proficiency of "Advanced Mid" on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL) exam. Be proficient in English. Clear Criminal Background Check, TB Test, and Child Protection Registry Clearance must be completed prior to the start of employment. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be considered advantageous: Experience in teaching Spanish immersion programs. Knowledge of curriculum design and development. Familiarity with ed-tech tools and platforms.
