**Experienced Medical Data Entry Specialist – Insurance Claims and Accounts Receivable**

We are seeking an experienced Medical Data Entry Specialist to join our team, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of medical claims and accounts receivable. **Job Summary:** As a Medical Data Entry Specialist at blithequark, you will be responsible for managing the entire claims process, from initial submission to final payment. Your primary focus will be on contacting payers to obtain medical claims status, following up on denials, and verifying and updating accounts receivable according to correspondence received from insurance companies. You will also facilitate interoffice communication, research credit balances, and initiate refunds as required. Your exceptional communication and multitasking skills will enable you to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines. **Key Responsibilities:** * Contact payers to obtain medical claims status, follow up on denials, or partial payments * Obtain payer requirements for timely adjudication of claims * Verify, adjust, and update Accounts Receivable (A/R) according to correspondence received from insurance companies * Facilitate interoffice communication on error and denial trends * Research credit balances and initiate refunds as required * Document all activity in customer's computer account * Answer Accounts Receivable phone inquiries * Work assigned RBCO reports * Assist other PACs with questions or collection needs **Essential Qualifications:** * High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required * Past performance shows solid evidence of insurance qualifications and guidelines * Knowledge of telephone etiquette and adequate oral and written communication skills * Demonstrated effective multitasking skills * Positive and cooperative attitude in working and communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization * Knowledge of the medical field is preferred **Preferred Qualifications:** * Previous experience in medical data entry or a related field * Familiarity with medical billing software and systems * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines * Strong attention to detail and accuracy **Skills and Competencies:** * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word * Familiarity with medical billing software and systems is a plus **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:** At blithequark, we believe in investing in our employees' growth and development.
