**About the Role**
As a Medical Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in gathering and analyzing data to inform healthcare services for individuals newly arrived in Rhode Island, including refugees and other immigrant groups. You will develop assessment tools, collaborate with healthcare providers, and analyze data to identify strengths and gaps in the healthcare landscape. Your expertise will help us better understand the healthcare needs of culturally diverse populations and migrating communities, ultimately informing our strategies to improve healthcare outcomes.
**Responsibilities**
As a Medical Data Entry Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
* Developing an assessment tool to evaluate the capacity of healthcare providers to deliver treatment to newcomer populations
* Collaborating with the team to update the state's healthcare inventory and extract relevant data for the Health Systems Capacity Project
* Distributing the assessment tool to healthcare providers in Rhode Island and collecting returned data
* Conducting research on comparable assessment approaches and consulting with experts to develop an effective capacity assessment tool
* Identifying and selecting a digital database platform for collecting and analyzing data from healthcare providers
* Utilizing the assessment tool to evaluate as many healthcare providers as possible through July 2025
* Meeting regularly with Department of Human Services (DHS) staff to report on progress and strategize next steps
* Analyzing collected data to draft a document outlining strengths and gaps within the Rhode Island healthcare landscape
**Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Graduate-level studies in a community healthcare field
* Understanding of the healthcare needs of culturally diverse populations and migrating communities
* Research experience and proficiency in utilizing research databases
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
**Nice-to-Haves**
