Job Overview We are currently seeking Part-Time Math Tutors to work with students in grades K-12 at our Schaumburg, IL, and Lake Zurich, IL locations. As a Math Tutor at Sylvan Learning, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of your students, helping them to build confidence and achieve academic success. Our tutors work with students in a one-on-one setting, providing personalized instruction and support to help them overcome challenges and reach their goals. Key Responsibilities Teach Math concepts to students in grades K-12 using Sylvan-based programs Direct and motivate students during instruction, providing feedback and encouragement to help them stay on track Reward students for successful work, celebrating their achievements and reinforcing positive behaviors Evaluate and document student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness and developing strategies to support ongoing growth and development Communicate student needs to our Educational Team, working collaboratively to develop and implement effective learning plans Develop rapport with students and establish a fun, engaging learning environment that fosters a love of learning and promotes academic success Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan, serving as a role model and inspiration for your students Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should possess a strong background in Math, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A degree in Education, Teaching, or Math is preferred, although college students or professionals with strong Math abilities are also welcome to apply. For TestPrep (ACT/SAT) Tutors, a strong ACT/SAT score (30 ACT/1400 SAT) is required, along with at least one year of teaching or tutoring experience.
