Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Math Tutor to join our team of talented educators. As a Math Tutor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, one-on-one tutoring to high school and middle school students in math, homework prep, and other related subjects. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, one-on-one tutoring to high school and middle school students in math, homework prep, and other related subjects Develop and implement personalized lesson plans to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each student Effectively balance tutoring hours for each assigned student and ensure that each student receives the support they need to succeed Prepare session reports for our office and families within 24 hours of each tutoring session Respond to existing clients' concerns, questions, and requests in a professional and timely manner Follow up with our office when a student's enrollment package is low on hours Service students whose needs align with your areas of expertise and experience Essential Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in the education field, with a focus on math tutoring or teaching Minimum 2 years of experience in tutoring or teaching in specialized education fields, such as math or science Credentialed tutors and/or graduate degrees are a plus, but not a requirement Experience with basic database/data entry and strong administration skills Ability to prepare accordingly for each tutoring session, including developing lesson plans and materials Strong typing, PC, and recording skills, as well as reliable transportation and current car insurance Access to the internet, a computer, and a smartphone Preferred Qualifications Graduate degree in education, math, or a related field Certification in math tutoring or teaching, such as a math specialist certification Experience working with students with diverse learning styles and needs Strong knowledge of math curriculum and standards for high school and middle school students Experience with online tutoring platforms and technology Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of math concepts and principles, including algebra, geometry, and calculus Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs, and to develop personalized lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple tutoring sessions and responsibilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Tutoring of Nashville, we are committed to the growth and development of our tutors and staff.
