Job Overview: Math Teacher/Tutor As a Math Teacher/Tutor at Mathnasium, you will play a vital role in helping students develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, build confidence, and cultivate a growth mindset. You will work with students in grades K-12, using our proprietary curriculum and teaching strategies to create a fun and artistic learning experience. Key Responsibilities: Teach students in grades K-12 using their customized learning plans, developed by our expert instructors. Assist students with homework completion and provide guidance on math-related tasks. Deliver high-quality instruction, adapting to the needs and abilities of each student. Participate in paid training to familiarize yourself with Mathnasium's curriculum, teaching strategies, and team teaching methods. Work collaboratively with other instructors to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Maintain a clear and accurate record of student progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians as needed. Essential Qualifications: Strong math proficiency up to Algebra (proficiency through Geometry and Calculus is a plus). Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam (covering material from 2nd grade and up). Availability for at least 2 weekday shifts (afternoons after 3 pm). Clear record on state and national background checks. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in teaching or tutoring math, particularly in a K-12 setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. A degree in mathematics, education, or a related field. Skills and Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex concepts into manageable parts. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve success. Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to adjust instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
