Job Overview The Math Instructional Coach will be responsible for providing math instructional support and improvement for the instructional staff, ensuring that teachers at all levels have the necessary skills and knowledge to align their instruction with the UT-UCS curriculum standards. The successful candidate will have a strong background in math education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a non-traditional school setting with students of varying abilities and interests. Key Responsibilities Support teachers in lesson planning, modeling lessons, co-teaching, and providing guided practice to ensure effective instructional practices. Mentor and monitor teachers in the mastery of district professional development initiatives and provide feedback on progress toward required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Facilitate teacher staff development for effective instructional practices and meet with school leadership teams to examine school data and assist in school-wide planning. Assist teachers in disaggregating, analyzing, and disseminating data to drive decisions on instructional placement and responsive action to help students. Collaborate with outside agencies and participate in planning district professional development as requested. Compile and maintain records of instructional materials and supplies, and perform other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates must have: A commitment to a reflective practitioner model for self and teachers. Ability to assist principals in building a professional learning community on campuses. Understanding of differentiated instruction and TEKS, as well as the curriculum standards of the State of Texas. Knowledge of best practices relative to curriculum and instruction in various content areas. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a non-traditional school setting with special needs students of varying abilities and interests. Effective use of technology. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and five years' experience. Valid teaching certificate required. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: More than five years of exemplary teaching experience as a math classroom teacher at the elementary and/or middle school level. Experience creating and presenting professional development at the campus and/or district level. Campus leadership experience (Instructional Specialist, team leader, grade level chair, department chair, etc.). Familiarity with Eureka Math and/or Carnegie Learning.
