As a Material Expert, you will be an integral part of our team, working collaboratively with other departments to achieve our goals. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate records and logs of inventory and supplies Coordinate with various Technical Operations Groups to deliver aircraft parts and materials Perform a variety of tasks, including receiving, shipping, checking, ordering, issuing, inspecting, storing, and warehousing supplies, tools, and materials Operate warehouse equipment and maintain records and reports associated with inventory management Deliver parts and materials to the maintenance department and ground equipment support division Assemble and/or construct loading containers, racks, and decks using required power tools when necessary Drive motor vehicles to pick up and deliver parts, equipment, materials, and tools as assigned Attend initial and ongoing training to stay up-to-date on knowledge, information, and equipment Work collaboratively as part of a lean staff team serving cities operated by the airline Wear visual identification as required by the Company for ready recognition Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. No current or future work authorization sponsorship available Ability to meet physical capacity requirements listed in the job description Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Previous experience in a warehouse or inventory management role Familiarity with lean principles and practices Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Skills and Competencies To excel as a Material Expert, you will need: Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances Career Growth Opportunities As a Material Expert with Southwest Airlines, you will have opportunities to grow and develop your career.
