As a Manager - Data Science, you will be responsible for leading a team of data scientists to develop and implement data-driven solutions to drive business growth and improve customer experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and develop data-driven strategies to address them. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead a team of data scientists to develop and implement data-driven solutions to drive business growth and improve customer experiences * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and develop data-driven strategies to address them * Develop and maintain large datasets and modern tools in an industry-leading Large Data environment * Build NLP-driven solutions from identifying business issues to gathering training datasets, to analyzing data, to modeling, to approving and to delivering NLP models * Develop everything from basic reports to cutting-edge AI models and algos to drive upgrades to our customers' online and mobile application experiences * Work with product owners to change the product and content plan with a data-driven approach * Collaborate with tech partners to test, implement and deliver modeling solutions to production systems * Form insights into customer behavior and introduce new methodologies to transform complex social data into meaningful information * Influence the power of closed-loop feedback through Amex organization to make choices more intelligent and relevant * Improve with a focus on creating fresher and better methodologies using large data and AI solutions **Essential Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, etc.) with hands-on experience using modern scientific and AI techniques * PhD degree with practical experience in NLP is a plus * Skill in a programming language (Python, R, or the same), and experience with databases (Hive, SQL, or the same) * Knowledge of SAS is a plus but not required * Deep understanding of AI/factual calculations like deep learning and supporting * Experience with data representation is a plus * Proven ability to approach business issues into numerical programming issues, leverage outside thinking and tools (from academia or potentially other industries) to design a solution and deliver business insights * Ability to work effectively in a team environment * Free thinker who's organized, has great empathy, and can multitask * Strong communication skills * Ability to advance rapidly and work independently with complex, unstructured datasets * Ability to collaborate with cross-functional colleagues around the world **Preferred Qualifications** * Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative field * Experience working with large datasets and modern tools * Strong understanding of AI and machine learning techniques * Experience with data visualization tools and techniques * Strong communication and presentation skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects **What We Offer** * Competitive salary range of $20-30/hour * Opportunity to work with a leading global financial services company * Collaborative and dynamic work environment * Opportunities for professional growth and development * Comprehensive benefits package * Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options **How to Apply** If you are a motivated and experienced data science professional who is passionate about driving business growth through data-driven decision making, please submit your application through our website.
