Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and skilled Maintenance Shift Manager - Optical - 1st Shift to join our team in Crawfordsville, IN. As a Maintenance Shift Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, managing maintenance department daily operations, and supervising a team of maintenance technicians. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining quality and safety standards, managing complex projects, and supporting associate engagement and development. Key Responsibilities Operational Management: Monitor work plans, workloads, and associates to meet deadlines, solve problems, and resolve delay issues. Utilize systems to audit progress and identify concerns early within a shift. Quality and Safety: Maintain quality and safety standards for the facility, grounds, and equipment. Ensure equipment, tools, and supplies are in proper working order and readily available at the start of each shift. Train associates on company policies and procedures and monitor compliance with standards and maintenance goals. Maintenance Operations: Diagnose equipment problems, develop repair alternatives, and take action to repair power equipment, electrical systems, electronics, conveyor systems, and other areas of the facility. Ensure associates are trained to make repairs to equipment. Project Management: Assist in the strategic planning, preparation, and initiation of changes needed to install and program new equipment and increase facility efficiency. Plan, prioritize, and distribute assignments to maintenance technicians. Leadership and Development: Supervise and develop associates in the area of responsibility by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, communicating goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback. Participate in the interviewing, promotion, coaching, training, and evaluation of associates. Compliance and Stakeholder Management: Ensure compliance with external rules and regulations and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identify and communicate goals and objectives, and build accountability for achieving results. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Essential Qualifications: An Associate's Degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field and 1 year's experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related area. Alternatively, 2 years' experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related area is acceptable. Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or Logistics and experience in supervising associates. Preferred qualifications will be considered as part of the selection process. Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate will possess: Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with experience in supervising and developing associates. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of maintenance operations, including equipment repair, electrical systems, and conveyor systems. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Time Management and Organization: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
