Job Overview We are looking for a skilled and passionate mathematics educator to fill a long-term substitute teaching position from November 27, 2023, through June 12, 2024. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach Honors Geometry and Algebra, as well as lead a homeroom. This is a full-time opportunity for a talented teacher to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to the vibrant community at Holy Names Academy. Key Responsibilities Teach four classes of mathematics, including Honors Geometry and Algebra, using a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and promote academic excellence Lead a homeroom, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to students Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our students Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate with parents and guardians as needed Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, as well as participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the values of Holy Names Academy Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates should possess the following qualifications: Essential: Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field Preferred: Master's degree in mathematics or education, as well as teaching experience Ability to teach Honors Geometry and Algebra, with a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and principles Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds Commitment to the mission and values of Holy Names Academy Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and competencies: Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and principles, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner Excellent teaching, classroom management, and lesson planning skills Ability to adapt to new situations, think critically, and solve problems effectively Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a desire to stay current with best practices in mathematics education Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Holy Names Academy, we are committed to the growth and development of our educators.
