Job Overview and Key Responsibilities As a Life Underwriting Consultant I, you will play a critical role in analyzing risk for individual applicants and employer group coverage, determining eligibility based on application, product, state signed, and other applicable sources to make underwriting decisions. Your expertise will be essential in making recommendations for underwriting policy and updating the Training Guide. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing risk assessment of specialty products and projects as assigned. Your key responsibilities will include: Maintaining a deep understanding of the basic framework of our processing systems to move work properly Processing and underwriting specialty products and projects as assigned Maintaining positive relationships with our internal and external customers through effective written and verbal communication skills, including agents and proposed insureds Making risk selection decisions in a quality, timely, and productive manner Making recommendations for underwriting policies Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills. We prefer candidates with: A 4-year Bachelor's Degree 2 or more years of experience in a related field Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered In addition to these qualifications, you should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits We offer a competitive salary range of $42,960.00 - 74,527.50 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
