Job Overview
As a Lead DevOps Engineer on our Foundation Solutions Group (ISG) TechOps Team, you will play a crucial role in delivering IaaS/PAAS/SAAS for our ISG Development teams. Your expertise in Kubernetes, Linux, and cloud computing will be essential in ensuring that all critical systems are running 24x7, supporting Engineering Development, and driving division-wide Change Initiatives to modernize Engineering Operations across multiple lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the sustainment and maintenance of our core K8s framework platforms, including OpenShift, Farmer, and Tanzu, to suitable standards and best practices in a fast-paced environment.
Technical lead for "Kubernetes as a Service" presentation for internal clients, supporting the needs for "On-Demand K8s Cluster" On-prem cloud (OpenShift, Vmware Tanzu, and Farmer) with its various platforms, providing expert guidance.
Implement GitOps principles to integrate enterprise-wide cluster provisioning/automation and day 2 life cycle management using K8s native CI/CD tools like ArgoCD and Jenkins.
Ensure essential security policies are implemented and enforced across their work, including patch management, and aid in documentation of project requirements, statements of work, and service descriptions.
Guarantee backup and recovery for critical assets, including Disaster Recovery Plan, and perform Linux system administration on physical and virtual servers, including installation and maintenance of hardware, software, and applications.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with any Kubernetes objects, such as deployments, pods, namespaces, replication controllers, daemon sets, schedulers, etc.

Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:

Industry knowledge and experience in cloud-native structures, services-based architecture, container-based solutions development, delivery, and operations, as deployed for various environments and use cases.
Expert working knowledge of Openshift, Vmware Tanzu K8s Matrix Services, and Farmer, with a strong foundation in VMWare virtualization, networking/SAN, security, containerization technologies, and automation.
Proven experience with designing, developing, and delivering global scale platforms for Software-defined data center, container technologies in the industry (Docker, containerd, rkt, Kubernetes, NSX-T, Calico, OVN, etc.), Argo/Argoevents, DevOps practices, and CI/CD tools.
Experience with DevOps, including continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) for container jobs using Jenkins or ArgoCD, and programming/scripting experience with Yaml, Python, Shell, and design management/automation tools like Ansible automation platform/AWX.


Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable:

Redhat Openshift certifications and Kubernetes certifications like CKA, CKD, or CKS.
Experience using ServiceNow, Jira, and Infoblox.
