About the Role We are seeking an exceptional Lead Data Engineer to join our team of talented engineers. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building high-performance, scalable data solutions that meet the needs of millions of agents, brokers, home buyers, and sellers. You will design, develop, and test robust, scalable data platform components, working closely with product engineers to understand their data pipeline needs and come up with innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and test robust, scalable data platform components that meet the needs of our users Collaborate with product engineers to understand their data pipeline needs and develop innovative solutions Work with a team of talented engineers to build high-performance, scalable data solutions Develop and maintain large-scale real-time stream processing systems using Apache Flink or Apache Spark with messaging infrastructure like Kafka/Pulsar Design and implement data pipelines for ETL and processing of structured and unstructured data Work with NoSQL systems like MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Relational SQL Database systems (PostgreSQL) and Athena Utilize technologies like Lambda, API Gateway, AWS Fargate, ECS, CloudWatch, S3, and DataDog to build scalable data solutions Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of training and experience 7+ years of core Scala/Java experience: building business logic layers and high-volume/low latency/big data pipelines 5+ years of experience in large-scale real-time stream processing using Apache Flink or Apache Spark with messaging infrastructure like Kafka/Pulsar 7+ years of experience in data pipeline development, ETL, and processing of structured and unstructured data 5+ years of experience using NoSQL systems like MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Relational SQL Database systems (PostgreSQL) and Athena Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with cloud-based technologies like AWS or Azure Experience with containerization using Docker Experience with agile development methodologies Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools Strong understanding of data architecture and data governance Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills in Java, Scala, and related technologies Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong analytical skills and ability to think critically Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Anywhere Real Estate Inc., we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
