Job Overview: Insurance Services Representative I
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Insurance Services Representative I to join our team in a remote capacity. As an Insurance Services Representative I, you will be responsible for the collection and resolution of outstanding insurance receivables, including unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims. Your exceptional communication skills and ability to work efficiently in a high-volume claim environment will be essential in this role. You will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Collection and resolution of outstanding insurance receivables, including unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims
Effective communication with insurance companies, patients, and internal stakeholders to resolve claims issues
Accurate and efficient handling of high claim volume, ensuring timely resolution and minimal delays
Collaboration with internal teams, including billing, coding, and patient access, to ensure seamless revenue cycle management
Identification and escalation of complex claims issues, providing recommendations for resolution
Adherence to Mercy’s policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements


Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

Prior experience in EPIC Resolute Hospital Billing or Ambulatory experience, or equivalent revenue cycle experience
High School Degree or Equivalent
Basic Microsoft Excel and Word knowledge
Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment


Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

Prior experience in healthcare billing, insurance, or revenue cycle management
Certifications in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management
Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively
