Job Overview We're seeking an exceptionally energetic and skilled Information Security Engineer to work in security checking, discovery, and incident responses to protect Tesla's data, infrastructure, and products. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in building and running a comprehensive threat detection program, improving logging coverage, constructing and tuning log collection, analysis, and alerting systems, and identifying threats at scale. Key Responsibilities: Investigate the latest attacker techniques and develop approaches to detect and recognize them across the organization's diverse environments and endpoints. Define, implement, and tune detective capabilities and data sources to detect and remediate malicious activity. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement threat detection signals, deliver new tooling, and improve response capabilities. Analyze security data and report on threats and incidents across multiple platforms and environments. Utilize automation to improve identification and response time and reduce impact when an incident occurs. Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you should have: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Excellent understanding and experience in various security domains, such as intrusion detection, incident response, malware analysis, application security, and forensics. Experience recognizing exploitation and large-scale attacks in diverse environments. Programming experience in Python, Go, or Java. Experience working with cloud environments (AWS preferred) and Linux containers and orchestration systems (Kubernetes preferred). Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with various stakeholders, such as engineering/operations teams, internal specialty units, external incident response teams, and law enforcement, throughout the incident lifecycle. Knowledge of the following detection-related disciplines with deep experience in at least one: large-scale analysis of log data using tools like Splunk or ELK, security automation using tools like Ghost or Demisto, file system, memory, or live response on Windows, MacOS, and Linux, analysis of network traffic from intrusion detection systems and flow monitoring systems.
