About the Role We're seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team, where you'll play a vital role in contributing to American Airlines' success. As a member of the People Partner Group within the People Division, you'll be responsible for consulting, identifying, and delivering individual (Human Resource) services and solutions that will result in improved business capability and performance/individual engagement. Your expertise will help us drive business results, foster a positive work environment, and promote a culture of inclusivity and diversity. Key Responsibilities Build and leverage relationships at all levels in the organization, informing and assisting others while being seen as a valued, trusted, and reliable colleague Act as a trusted advisor to client leaders, helping them to achieve their business and functional plans Collaborate with business leaders to lead and execute all annual people drives for the organization Provide strategic guidance to clients to implement solutions for employee relations issues and trends Communicate with business and Colleague Experience team regarding disciplinary and termination workflows Implement achievement measures to coach leaders to be proactive in employee relations and avoid conservative situations Identify and capitalize on opportunities to drive and lead change Foster a culture that is diverse and inclusive, aligned with the essential objectives of the organization, team building, organizational development, engagement, and accountability Partner with effective change management initiatives Develop and lead team development/team building processes both proactively and, when necessary, to improve team performance Proactively attempt to support our leaders with talent drives, leadership development programs, and improving colleague performance engagement Presents options to leaders on organizational design, roles, and responsibilities, employee development, and more Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience/training At least 4 years of HR experience 3 years of experience in managing employee relations 2 years of staff management/executive experience or equivalent Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Familiarity with state and federal labor laws, including but not limited to; FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII, and more Experience in providing guidance and advice to executive leaders PHR/SPHR certification Skills, Licenses, and Certifications To excel in this role, you'll need: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills Strong drive and sound judgment capabilities/abilities Skills in problem-solving and navigation Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations in a professional and dignified manner Ability to work independently and be highly self-motivated Ability to handle multiple priorities and produce results What You'll Get At American Airlines, we're committed to providing our employees with a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Travel perks: Discover the world with access to 365 destinations on over 6,800 daily flights across our global network Health benefits: Enjoy access to medical, dental, prescription, and vision benefits that will help you live well, starting on day one Wellness programs: Take advantage of our wellness programs, which provide you with the tools, resources, and support you need to be your best self 401(k) program: Eligible for company contributions after 365 days Additional benefits: Enjoy discounts on hotels, cars, cruises, and more, as well as our employee assistance program and pet insurance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion At American Airlines, we're dedicated to creating a workplace that is inclusive and diverse.
