About the Position As a key member of our HomeKit team, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You'll work on various layers of the software stack, from protocol design and implementation to developer APIs, and defining the customer experience. Key Responsibilities Develop the HomeKit platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and security, while staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in home automation technology. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and enhancements, driving the continuous improvement of our software solutions. Work closely with developers to provide technical guidance and support, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to delivery, ensuring that our solutions meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Engage in code reviews, debugging, and testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products that exceed customer expectations. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess a strong foundation in software development, with a focus on object-oriented programming languages such as Objective-C, Swift, or C++. You'll also need to have a deep understanding of operating systems concepts, including: Multi-threading and concurrency Memory management and optimization Networking protocols and architectures Wireless technologies and their applications Distributed system architecture and design patterns A minimum of 5-10 years of software development experience is required, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications will be considered a plus: Experience with cloud-based services and architectures, such as AWS or Azure. Knowledge of home automation protocols and standards, such as HomeKit, Zigbee, or Z-Wave. Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
