Key Responsibilities Take ownership of student knowledge and commit to stretching students' cognitive capacities through effective instruction and progress monitoring. Utilize accomplished pedagogical expertise to execute lessons aligned with state standards, relating to and anticipating student needs. Differentiate instruction to personalize learning, proactively minimizing confusion or disengagement. Deliver instruction that generates further student inquiry, promoting problem-solving, real-world application, and high-order thinking. Establish a positive class climate, creating an emotional and social oasis for students. Utilize analytical and reflective methods for formal and informal student data to inform instruction. Maintain knowledge of accommodations and modifications to be implemented in IEP or 504 plans. Partner with special educators to determine the appropriate implementation of accommodations and modifications for specific content standards. Comply with the Texas Educator Code of Ethics, ResponsiveEd Employee Handbook, and other relevant policies and procedures. Serve as a test administrator during state testing examination windows and district assessment testing as needed. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: Valid Texas Teacher Certification in Family and Consumer Sciences. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. 1-3 years of teaching experience in a Texas Public School. Strong knowledge of Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum and pedagogy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly preferred: Experience with mastery-based or individualized learning approaches to student education. 1-3 years of virtual teaching experience. Two or more years of documented experience teaching online courses for students in Grades 3-12. Continuing professional development specific to online learning every three years.
