Position Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time, fully remote Customer Advocate Phone Specialist to provide exceptional inbound phone support to healthcare customers throughout Arizona. This position requires Arizona residency, as all work will be performed within the state of Arizona.

As a Customer Advocate at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in our customer service operations. Your primary responsibility will be to identify, research, process, resolve, and respond to customer inquiries via telephone and written correspondence. You'll be the first point of contact for many of our members, and your ability to provide accurate, compassionate, and timely assistance will directly impact their healthcare experience.

What You'll Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Customer Advocate will be diverse and meaningful. Here's what you can expect:


Handle Inbound Customer Communications: Answer a high volume of health insurance-related customer calls and correspondence daily, ensuring each interaction meets our quality standards for professionalism and accuracy.
Resolve Complex Inquiries: Research and address customer questions about contract benefits, changes in coverage, eligibility requirements, claims status, arenaflex programs, and provider networks.
Document Accurately: Maintain detailed records of all customer interactions by updating arenaflex files and systems with precise information.
Collaborate Across Teams: Consult and coordinate with various internal departments, external plans, providers, businesses, and government agencies to obtain information and ensure complete resolution of customer inquiries.
Maintain Knowledge Currency: Demonstrate and maintain current working knowledge of arenaflex systems, procedures, forms, and manuals to provide accurate information to customers.
Meet Performance Standards: Achieve individual and department performance goals related to quality, quantity, and timeliness as defined within department guidelines.
Compose Professional Correspondence: Draft and dictate a variety of business correspondence to effectively communicate with customers in writing.
Navigate Multiple Systems: proficiently use multiple system applications to gather, input, and maintain data records accurately.


What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you must possess a unique blend of skills, experience, and personal qualities:

Essential Qualifications


At least one (1) year of experience in claims examination, health insurance, customer service, call center, medical office, or other healthcare-related field
High School diploma or GED
Intermediate PC proficiency
Arizona residency (must reside and work within the state of Arizona)

Compensation and Financial Benefits


Competitive Hourly Rate: $20.00 per hour
Performance Bonus: Up to 12% annual bonus based on corporate goals and individual performance
Retirement Savings: 401(k) with up to 5% dollar-per-dollar match plus a 2% non-elective employer contribution
