Job Summary As a Specialist, Building Controls, you will be responsible for ensuring client and partner safety, comfort, and energy efficiency in our building operations. You will perform complex diagnostic procedures, provide proactive solutions to issues, and apply advanced software techniques to building controls systems. Your primary goal will be to minimize service costs while ensuring the effectiveness of solutions. Key Responsibilities Perform complex diagnostic procedures to identify and resolve issues with building controls systems Provide proactive solutions to issues and apply advanced software techniques to building controls systems Implement solutions and follow up to ensure effectiveness Perform special or unique programming tasks to building controls systems by modifying or changing building controls methods Identify and respond to trends with alerts, thaws, and work orders, and respond to manufacturer recalls Collaborate with teams in building performance and controls by utilizing and sharing resources, information, and tools Determine client needs and business requirements while planning and executing work tasks Provide guidance, feedback, and support to ensure project timelines and work quality are accomplished Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to address business issues by collaborating with managers, colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders Analyze and apply data from multiple sources and monitor progress and results Identify and address opportunities for improvement Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, computer science, or a related field) At least 2-3 years of experience in building controls, energy management, or a related field Strong knowledge of building controls systems, energy management, and software applications Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred: Experience with energy management systems and sustainability initiatives Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, or Java) Experience with building automation systems (e.g., BAS, EMS, or SCADA) Certifications in building controls or energy management (e.g., CBCP, CEM, or LEED AP) Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Strong knowledge of building controls systems, energy management, and software applications Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits Walmart offers a range of career growth opportunities and learning benefits, including: Competitive salary and benefits package Incentive grants for performance 401(k) match and stock purchase plan Paid maternity and parental leave PTO and numerous health plans Opportunities for career advancement and professional growth Training and development programs Work Environment and Company Culture Walmart is committed to creating a work environment that is inclusive, respectful, and values diversity in all its forms.
