About the Role We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team, providing timely response and resolution to inquiries on account balances of the uninsured and underinsured patients, as well as other patient out-of-pocket expenses related to co-insurance and deductibles. This is a full-time remote position, available to residents of Minnesota and Wisconsin. As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for responding to initial patient-family requests, providing detailed explanations of patient billing information, resolving patient-family questions, and collaborating with other departments to research patient billing history. Key Responsibilities: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and other external and internal contacts through oral and written communication Respond to initial patient-family requests and provide detailed explanations of patient billing information Resolve patient-family questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner Collaborate with other departments to research patient billing history and resolve outstanding concerns Demonstrate excellent communication skills when dealing with patients, families, public, co-workers, and professional offices Utilize working knowledge of billing and follow-up processes to provide accurate and efficient support Maintain proficiency in systems, including computer applications, phone systems, and other technology Exhibit behaviors consistent with principles of excellent service, including efficiency, financial responsibility, safety, partnership, teamwork, compassion, integrity, and trust and respect Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: Essential Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required 3-5 years of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical billing environment Experience working with a wide variety of PC applications and technology Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal Knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards and PCI compliance regulations Basic knowledge of medical terminology and billing processes Detail-oriented, with good organizational skills and the ability to be self-directed Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and a heavy workload in a high-stress atmosphere Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a pediatric healthcare environment Knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes Proficiency in electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare technology Certification in customer service or a related field, such as Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and internal stakeholders Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex issues High-level organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to adjust to changing priorities and deadlines Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality Career Growth and Development At blithequark, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth and development.
