Experienced Full-Time Remote 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist PRN, 1st Shift - Delivering Life-Changing Care through Exceptional Crisis Intervention and Support Services

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and compassionate 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist PRN, 1st Shift to join our team. This is a remote position that offers a unique opportunity to work on a 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team. As a Crisis Specialist, you will handle incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988, and provide brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals who are experiencing emotional distress. Key Responsibilities Provides telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals in crisis Answers crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to best meet individual needs Conducts follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide Meets the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation Actively participates in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings Assists in administrative tasks as needed Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, or be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Six months to one year of related crisis experience is preferred Effective communication skills via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods High-level customer service skills and professional etiquette Demonstrated knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources Knowledge of suicide assessments and skill in providing crisis intervention Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a crisis intervention or mental health setting Knowledge of trauma-informed care and principles Experience working with diverse populations and communities Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Strong technical skills, including proficiency in chat/text platforms and electronic health records Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
