Experienced Full-Time Online Chat Text Supervisor – 988 Crisis Intervention and Support Services

Key Responsibilities As an Online Chat Text Supervisor at blithequark, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective operation of our 988 Crisis Chat Program. Your primary responsibilities will include: Providing individual supervision to Crisis Chat Counselors, including monitoring and feedback on their performance Conducting risk assessments, safety planning, and de-escalation interventions with chat visitors Building positive rapport with chat visitors and providing crisis intervention and emotional support Coordinating with emergency responders when active rescue is required Familiarizing yourself with community resources and providing information and referrals to chat visitors Responding to crisis chat/text visitors as needed to support Counselors on shift Ensuring thorough documentation is completed for all crisis chats/texts Monitoring chat and text quality, with a focus on achieving a minimum 75% quality evaluation score Conducting weekly individual supervision sessions with Counselors and completing weekly quality assurance reports Providing training to new Crisis Chat Counselors and participating in ongoing training and professional development Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as counseling, social work, or psychology A minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health services, preferably in crisis intervention or suicide prevention Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to function successfully in an environment requiring immediate response to urgent situations Knowledge of and familiarity with local and statewide community resources Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft products and various software applications Preferred Qualifications We welcome applicants with: A Master's degree in a related field, such as counseling, social work, or psychology Experience working in a call center or crisis intervention setting Familiarity with crisis intervention models and best practices Experience with quality assurance and performance management Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong leadership and supervision skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team of Crisis Chat Counselors Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with chat visitors and colleagues Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments A strong commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of emotional demands Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our team members.
