Job Summary As a Full-Time College Admissions Consultant, you'll play a critical role in guiding high school students and their families through the college admissions process. You'll work closely with students to help them reach their full potential, develop their skills and confidence, and achieve their academic and intellectual goals. Key Responsibilities Meet one-on-one with high school students and their parents to provide personalized guidance and support throughout the college admissions process Coach students to reach their full potential by developing their academic, intellectual, and extracurricular profiles Support students with skill-set development to build their confidence and academic curiosity Work closely with students on essay development and provide constructive feedback on essay topics Handle high-stress situations and interactions with professionalism and empathy Convey expertise in all areas of college admissions, including application requirements, deadlines, and strategies Essential Qualifications An undergraduate or graduate degree from a selective university or admissions experience from a selective university A graduate degree, ideally PhD (candidates with degrees in fields like history, literature, languages, and political science have historically thrived at Spark, but we are open to all fields) An outgoing, empathetic personality with strong relationship-building skills A strong work ethic with a constant desire to exceed expectations Proven, exceptional writing skills Exceptional attention to detail and strong project management skills Comfort working in an entrepreneurial, small-company environment Ability to work some evening and weekend hours At least five years of work experience or combination of work experience and graduate school Preferred Qualifications Experience working with high school students and their families Knowledge of college admissions trends and best practices Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Full-Time College Admissions Consultant at Spark Admissions, you'll need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work with students and families from diverse backgrounds Empathy and understanding of the college admissions process Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Spark Admissions, we're committed to helping our team members grow and develop their skills.
