About the Role
As a Software Engineer at Disney, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications and systems that power our digital experiences. This is a fully remote role, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere and collaborate with our global team. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from developing new features for our websites and mobile apps to creating innovative solutions for our theme parks and resorts.

Key Responsibilities

Complete assigned software development tasks using the latest technologies and methodologies
Participate in developing specifications for assigned components, tasks, or fixes
Write code, complete programming, write tests, perform testing, and debug code
Follow established protocols for installation and security and complete documentation
Develop, run, build, and maintain technical components related to server-side and web service-based solutions
Develop expertise in front-end technology stack and assist with end-to-end troubleshooting
Interact and coordinate work with other technical teams within the organization
Review or solve problems and perform testing
Participate in conceiving and setting the architectural direction for web development projects


Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in computer science and software engineering. We are looking for individuals with:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
3+ years of experience in coding and development of scalable, high-volume software applications and/or client-facing web applications
Knowledge of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, coding best practices, database systems, and internet software development
Significant experience with relevant technologies, including Java, Web Services (SOAP & REST), SQL, CS Fundamentals, Development Tools, JSON, Message Queues, XML DTDs, and HTTP Protocol


Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the above requirements, we are looking for individuals with experience in:

AWS – Lambda, SQS, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch
Solid expertise in microservices
RESTful Web Services or APIs using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Function, JPA, JAXB
