The Role: Full Stack Software Engineer
As a Full Stack Software Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for building high-performance, scalable, and stable systems that integrate with studios to deliver metadata and work for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Nat Geo, and Fox content onto the Disney Streaming platform. You will work collaboratively with a team of engineers to design, develop, and deploy software solutions that meet the needs of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with a team of engineers to build software in a collaborative development environment
Design, develop, and deploy high-performance, scalable, and stable systems
Participate in high-level architecture discussions and planning sessions
Provide feedback on pull requests and participate in code reviews
Participate in on-call rotation, supporting systems and services during production incidents
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
Develop and maintain technical documentation for systems and services
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
Requirements and Skills:
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field
Experience with one programming language, ideally Java or Typescript, C++, and JavaScript
Good knowledge of object-oriented programming
Understanding of RESTful services
Understanding of source control principles and exposure to Git
Understanding of data persistence technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL)
Exposure to build and deployment technologies such as Jenkins and Docker
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-learner, independent, and excellent problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS services (Lambda, ECS, S3, SQS, Kinesis, Postgres, DynamoDB, etc.)
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker
Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
Experience with analytics and logging tools
