Job Summary Blithequark, a leader in the entertainment industry, is seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our Information and Investigation group for Blithequark Web-based features (DSS), a section under the Blithequark Diversion and ESPN Innovation (DE&ET). Job Description As a Lead Data Engineer at Blithequark, you will be responsible for designing and developing data products, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines that support our business goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and product managers to ensure that our data solutions meet the needs of our stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the design and development of data products and data warehouses around commitment and maintenance analysis and data science Design and develop scalable data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in large data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid) Help engineer data solutions/structures and define data models for the critical data warehouse and data shops Collaborate with data product managers, data modelers, and data architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support obligations to our clients (Data Science, Data Analysis teams) Be an active participant and supporter of agile/scrum practices to ensure safety and process improvements for your team Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets Hands-on experience with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query) Strong experience with data integration toolsets (i.e., Windstream) and writing and maintaining data pipelines Solid understanding of data modeling techniques and data warehousing standard systems and practices Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2) Familiarity with data science tools and technologies Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Skills and Competencies: To succeed as a Lead Data Engineer at Blithequark, you will need: Strong technical skills in data engineering, including data warehousing, ETL, and data modeling Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
