Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist Intern at Google, you will be responsible for conducting statistical analysis to inform business or product decisions. This will involve:


Conducting statistical analysis to make business or product decisions (i.e., cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, impact assessment)
Delivering effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple tiers of stakeholders, developing clear and concise visualizations of quantitative data
Developing and automating reports, iteratively assembling and prototyping dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs
Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to identify business needs, formulate and execute assessments that include data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables, and presentations
Helping Google focus on key decisions to improve products and services


Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

* Currently pursuing a Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Sciences, etc.)
* Experience working with statistical packages (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, etc.)
* Experience articulating product questions, pulling statistics from datasets (SQL), and using statistics to inform answers

Preferred Qualifications

* Currently attending a degree-granting institution within the United States and available to work full-time for 12 weeks outside of university term time
* In their penultimate academic year or returning to a degree-granting institution after completing the internship
* Ability to translate assessment outcomes into business recommendations
* Interest and potential to work with statistics, metrics, assessment, and development, with a strong foundation in measurement, statistics, and awareness assessment
* Excellent problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills, with strong business acumen

Compensation and Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000-$106,000. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting represents the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by office and additional factors, which include project-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can provide more information about the specific salary range for your selected location during the hiring process.
