Job Summary We are looking for an entry-level Data Scientist who is passionate about data and analytics, with a desire to dive deep into details and the ability to survey the higher perspective. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of modeling techniques and the ability to work in a team as well as individually. The ideal candidate will be able to extract insights from large volumes of data and clearly communicate valuable triggers and suggestions. Key Responsibilities: Execute solutions to business problems using data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques Continuously develop and demonstrate advanced analytical techniques Possess strong analytical skills and be comfortable with owning data and working from concept through to execution Understand a business problem and the available data, and identify what analysis and modeling techniques can be applied to answer a business question Work with large datasets and perform complex data analysis to identify patterns and trends Develop and maintain predictive models using machine learning algorithms Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions Communicate complex quantitative analysis and algorithms in a clear, concise, and meaningful way Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or Computer Science At least 2+ years of experience in data analysis, machine learning, or a related field Strong knowledge of one or both of R or Python programming languages Experience working with large datasets and performing complex data analysis Understanding of predictive and machine learning techniques such as logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, and neural networks Proficiency in using database querying tools and writing complex queries and procedures using Teradata SQL or Microsoft T-SQL Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or MBA Experience working with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud What We Offer At United Airlines, we offer a competitive compensation package, including: A salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 per year Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for career growth and professional development A dynamic and inclusive work environment Why Join United Airlines?
