Experienced Full Stack Data Scientist – AI, Machine Learning, and Statistical Modeling for Direct-to-Consumer Video Services (Part Time/Remote)

We're now looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our Information Science team, focusing on in-depth data analysis and research to drive business growth and customer engagement. About the Role As a Data Scientist at blithequark, you will be part of a dynamic team that leverages data to inform business decisions, drive customer retention, and enhance user experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement AI and statistical models, analyze complex data sets, and present actionable insights to senior leaders. Key Responsibilities Support the streaming business with AI and statistical modeling focused on understanding and predicting subscriber behavior, such as churn, upgrade/downgrade, price responsiveness, customer segmentation, survival analysis, trial design and analysis, and causal inference. Create and implement innovative AI strategies to address key business questions while identifying new areas to explore. Drive experimentation to assess the effects of your models and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to identify opportunities. Work closely with various data groups to improve platform capabilities around data modeling, data visualization, experimentation, and data design. Present recommendations to senior executives and contribute to the development of business strategies. Requirements Essential Qualifications Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Physics, Econometrics, or Statistics. 3+ years of experience in designing, building, and evaluating practical AI solutions. Strong coding experience in data programming languages like Python/R, with additional experience in scientific libraries like Numpy, Pandas, or equivalent libraries. Proficient in analyzing data and creating ML models using Python (with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, scikit-learn, etc.). Strong foundation in statistical modeling: regression, classification, time series forecasting, causal inference, and other techniques. Experience creating adaptable mathematical models and solving complex quantitative problems that can be understood by non-numerical stakeholders. Ability to derive insights and determinations from data to inform model development and business decisions. Willingness to collaborate with other data scientists, data analysts, and key stakeholders. Good understanding of SQL. Preferred Qualifications Postgraduate education in a quantitative field. Excellent analytical skills, advanced level of statistics knowledge. Proven abilities in selecting the right statistical tools given a data analysis problem. Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment with shifting needs. Strong communication skills, for both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Experience with data platforms and applications like Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Wind current, Github. Experience with planning and analyzing A/B testing and other trial types. Experience thinking critically to interpret market and buyer data, ideally about a subscription service. Experience with distributed data technologies (Hive, Flash).
