About the Role
As a Data Science Student Intern, you will play a critical role in assisting our team with data analysis, modeling, and problem-solving. You will work closely with our professionals to analyze complex data sets, develop predictive models, and provide insights that inform business decisions. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that drive business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Query and analyze large datasets from various sources to identify trends and patterns
Perform exploratory data analysis and develop predictive models using Python and SQL
Design and implement data visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders
Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to solve complex problems
Develop and present a summary of your work to Operations Research and Business leaders at the end of the internship
Contribute to the development of best practices in data science and operations research
What You Need to Succeed
Essential Qualifications:
A minimum GPA of 3.0 and completion of at least 2 years in a college program
Degree emphasis in Information Science, Information Analysis/Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Availability to work the entire 13-week summer internship program (May 13 - August 9, 2024)
Ability to work from the Atlanta or MSP office (with some flexibility for remote work)
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Strong analytical, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the US
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with large-scale data processing and analysis
Familiarity with AWS and AI model development
Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling
Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
