Key Responsibilities
Provides drug store counseling services to patients regarding the effective use of medications and awareness of drug interactions
Performs various tasks, including compounding, drug treatment reviews, and prescription management
Ensures the accurate handling of insurance claims to resolve patient issues and prevent payment denials
Follows up with clinical providers' offices to clarify prescribed medications, doses, refills, interactions, and allergies
Performs clinical and health services, such as vaccinations, diagnostic testing, and disease state management
Assists and supports the pharmacy manager in analyzing performance data, including pharmacy financials, customer service, and performance of policies for pharmacy asset protection and inventory management
Creates and maintains excellent relationships with the local clinical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers
Participates in community outreach activities to promote the pharmacy business, enhance learning experiences, and provide happier lives through better health
Essential Qualifications
BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution
Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the region
Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong knowledge of relevant state and federal controlled substance regulations
Certified Immunizer or able to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting, including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems, and insurance
