About the Role
We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our Netflix Games team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines to support our games development. Your primary focus will be on building efficient, flexible, and adaptable data pipelines to handle structured and unstructured data, as well as collaborating with our game studio partners to gather insights and drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and build productive, versatile, and adaptable data pipelines to handle structured and unstructured data
Foster a deep understanding of the emerging games space at Netflix and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies
Collaborate with our game studio partners to develop high-level metrics for games (e.g., maintenance, user engagement) and ingest relevant metrics and game data into the Netflix ecosystem
Partner with Netflix's internal game studios (Night School, Next Games, Manager Battle, and Agile Fox) to gather insights and drive business decisions
Collaborate with the Netflix SDK team and Netflix external game partners (e.g., Gameloft) to gather data through the Netflix Games SDK
Join a dynamic team of data engineers with diverse skill sets, collaborating closely with data science and data engineering partners
About You
We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Full Stack Data Engineer who is passionate about building scalable data pipelines and collaborating with cross-functional teams. If you have a strong background in data engineering, a passion for games, and a desire to work on the cutting-edge of innovation, we'd love to hear from you.
Essential Qualifications:
Energetic about building scalable data pipelines and collaborating with cross-functional teams
Proficient in at least one of Java, Python, or Scala with at least 2 years of programming and data engineering experience
Strong understanding of advanced SQL and data modeling concepts
Experience in designing data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Voila, Flash, Flink) on medium to large-scale datasets
Proficient in AWS cloud services (S3, EC2, RDS, etc.)
Ability to take requirements and design adaptable data models and pipelines
Passionate about showcasing excellence, learning new technologies, and developing your career
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)
Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles
