Our team is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports Amazon's rapidly growing and dynamic business. If you're passionate about working with large datasets, building scalable data engineering solutions, and driving innovation in the finance space, we want to hear from you!

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our team and help us build one of the largest finance data platforms in the world. As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data engineering solutions that support Amazon's finance business. You'll work closely with our team of engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to develop and deploy data-driven solutions that drive business growth and provide insights to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain large-scale data engineering solutions that support Amazon's finance business.
Own the design, development, and security of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
Recognize and implement best practices in reporting and analytics: data integrity, test design, evaluation, validation, and documentation.
Tune software and query performance using profiling tools and SQL.
Analyze and resolve issues at their root, stepping back to identify the wider context.
Learn and recognize a vast array of Amazon's data assets and understand when, how, and which to apply and which not to apply.
Keep updated with advances in large data technology and run pilots to lay out the data structure to scale with the increased data extent using AWS.
Continually enhance ongoing reporting and analytics processes, automating or simplifying self-service guides for datasets.
Triage many viable courses of action in a high-ambiguity environment, using both quantitative evaluation and business judgment.

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of data engineering experience.
Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
Experience with SQL.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with AWS technology like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.

About Amazon

Amazon is dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We're an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, covered veteran status, disability, age, or other legally protected status. We're committed to providing a work environment that is free from harassment and intimidation.

Benefits

Our benefits can vary depending on location, the number of often scheduled hours you work, and how long you've worked for us. They also depend on your job status, including seasonal or temporary employment. With our medical plan options, you can choose the right insurance for you and your eligible family members. You can select from multiple plans, including a health savings account (with employee and company contributions), and more than one network vendor for the best care in your area.

Certain plans provide additional, personalized support for cancer, diabetes, physical therapy, fertility treatment, and family-building services. Our Employee Assistance Program, available at no cost to you, offers mental health support. You can also sign up for dental and vision plans and a flexible spending account for health and structured care.

We offer a 401(k) plan that helps you defer repayment in your long-term savings and includes a company match. The plan offers many investment options to help you reach your goals. We provide company-paid basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance. You can sign up for additional insurance for you and your dependents.

We offer several fully paid maternity and parental leave options for parents before and after the birth or adoption of a child. This includes our Leave Share option. We have a flexible program called Ramp Back to help you when you return to work. Parental leave requires at least 365 days of continuous service through the date of a child's birth or adoption (part-time leaves do not require tenure).

We all need regular time off from work to recharge. You'll earn paid time off in addition to company-paid holidays.
