About the Role As a Data Engineer at Blithequark, you will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and databases. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth operation of data acquisition processes, data validation, and ETL/ELT data pipelines. You will also be involved in various data engineering activities, such as: Data requirements gathering and source-to-target planning Data validation and review Data visualization and reporting Developing and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines Designing and implementing database schema, tables, and views Delivering datasets as input to science models and visualizations Key Responsibilities As a Data Engineer at Blithequark, your key responsibilities will include: Designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and databases Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and develop data products Ensuring data quality and integrity through data validation and review Developing and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines using tools like SQL, Python, and Docker Designing and implementing database schema, tables, and views Delivering datasets as input to science models and visualizations Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support Proven experience with Python and SQL, preferably with Snowflake Experience working in a multi-environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DEVOP methodologies for code deployment and development Experience creating and maintaining automated work schedulers Strong understanding of relational database design and functionality Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based, like Snowflake, Databricks, or similar Proficiency in cloud architecture and product offerings, preferably AWS Experience managing and delivering code using source control tools like GitLab/GitHub Experience using Docker What We Offer At Blithequark, we offer a dynamic and supportive work environment that encourages growth and learning.
