Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our Information Ventures team at Walmart. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines that power our retail data science capabilities. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business growth and improve customer experiences. Key Responsibilities Data Integration and Transformation: Design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines that integrate data from various sources. Develop and implement data transformation and processing logic to convert raw data into usable data assets. Data Source Identification: Identify and evaluate data sources to support business requirements. Perform initial data quality checks on extracted data to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Data Modeling: Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business requirements. Design and implement data warehousing and business intelligence solutions. Code Development and Testing: Write high-quality code to develop and implement data-driven solutions. Develop and execute testing plans to ensure code quality and reliability. Applied Business Intuition: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop data-driven solutions that meet those needs. Data Governance: Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members. Develop and maintain technical documentation and playbooks. Requirements Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 2+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or related field. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala. Experience with data engineering tools such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka. Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and business intelligence concepts. Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS. Experience with data governance and data quality tools. Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts. Strong understanding of business acumen and industry trends. Skills and Competencies Technical Skills: Strong programming skills, data engineering tools, and data modeling concepts. Business Acumen: Understanding of business requirements and industry trends. Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
