Job Summary Blithequark is seeking an experienced Senior Information Specialist to join our Information Ventures team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of large-scale data engineering projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the development of reusable technologies to support client acquisition, onboarding, and merchant engagement. Our Information Ventures team is responsible for developing and implementing data-driven solutions to support business growth and merchant engagement. We are a team of technologists, data scientists, and engineers who are passionate about using data to drive business outcomes. Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of large-scale data engineering projects, including data warehousing, data lakes, and ETL environments Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchants, product managers, and engineers to identify business requirements and develop technical solutions Develop and maintain large-scale data systems, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes Ensure high-quality code, system reliability, and performance, and participate in code reviews and testing Drive the adoption of new technologies and architectures, including cloud computing, big data, and machine learning Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and team members Participate in project planning, estimation, and prioritization, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, technical specifications, and test plans Requirements Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 5+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or related field Strong experience with Hadoop, Hive, Apache Spark, and other big data technologies Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Scala, Python, Java, or C++ Experience with cloud computing platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS) Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including data modeling, data governance, and data quality Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work with cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications Experience with NoSQL databases, including Cassandra, MongoDB, or Couchbase Knowledge of data integration tools, including Informatica, Talend, or Microsoft SSIS Experience with data visualization tools, including Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices What We Offer Compensation and Benefits Blithequark offers a competitive salary range of $35-45 per year, depending on experience.
