About the Role As a Data Engineer on our Supported Hunt Information team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and ETL processes for Walmart's Supported Hunt Advertising platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, availability, and reliability for analysis and reporting. This is a full-time position available for both night and day shifts, offering the flexibility to work remotely. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing large volumes of data to support marketing on Walmart.com and its subsidiaries. Work on cloud platforms like Azure and Google Cloud for data storage, processing, and analysis. Develop and deploy large-scale, containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes on public clouds like Google GCP and Microsoft Azure. Collaborate with other scrum teams, QA, Product, Program Management, and Partner Operations, while working with cross-functional enterprise development teams. Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations for potential emergencies to troubleshoot production issues across cross-functional teams. What You'll Bring: Essential Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in data engineering concepts, database design, ETL processes, and data mining. Proficiency in working with data technologies including SQL, Python, Java, Scala, Hadoop, and related tools and technologies. Experience with ETL tools like Apache NiFi, Apache Beam, or similar. Strong skills working with relational databases (e.g., Azure SQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra). Experience with real-time message processing using Apache Kafka. Experience in designing and implementing data models for efficient storage and retrieval. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with Cloud Computing Services like Google GCP and Microsoft Azure, as well as Distributed Storage Systems like Hive and Spark. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git. Skills and Competencies: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences. A strong sense of ownership and accountability, self-motivation, and focus on high-quality expectations.
